The City of Fontanelle, Iowa, was established in 1855 in Adair County, just eight minutes southwest of the Greenfield and one hour from the Des Moines metro.

The City of Fontanelle serves approximately seven hundred residents in just under a total area of one square mile. We pride ourselves in making a community “a place to call home” that is clean, safe, and fun for our community members, businesses, and visitors to our community.
